قسم الكيمياء التحليلية

 يهتم قسم الكيمياء التحليلية بموضوعات تحليل الدواء كيميائيا، ودراسة سمية الأدوية وثباتها، كما يقوم القسم بتدريس مقررات الكيمياء الفيزيائية وغير العضوية، ويهتم أيضا بدراسة الأجهزة والآلات المستخدمة في عمليات التحليل وكيفية استخدامها، ومعايير رقابة الجودة الصيدلية، ويتركز البحث العلمي في قسم الكيمياء التحليلية على تناول التطبيقات العلمية لتحليل الأدوية وعلاقتها بالبيئة، كما يتناول تحليل الأغذية ومستحضرات التجميل وغيرها من المركبات والمواد التي يستخدمها الإنسان

A-Undergraduate courses:
       1.Physical and Inorganic Chemistry (PAC101)
On completion of this course students will be able to: understand the basics of qualitative analytical chemistry and apply practical skills in the qualitative chemical analysis of anions and cations as well as understand the principle of gravimetric analysis.
       2.Analytical Chemistry1 (PAC102)
On completion of this course students will be able to: Understand the basic principles, theoretical aspects and practical skills on titrimetry ( acid-base reactions in aqueous and non aqueous media , precipimetry and complexometry.
       3.Analytical Chemistry2 PAC201
On completetion of course the student will be able to understand the basic principles, theoretical aspects and practical skills of quantitative oxidation reduction reactions and different electrochemical methods of analysis
       4.Instrumental Analysis PAC301
On completion of this course students will be able to understand the basic principles, theoretical aspects and practical skills in instrumental analysis including spectrophotometry, molecular fluorescence spectroscopy, flame spectroscopy) chromatography and Water and lipid analysis.
       5.Quality Control and Quality Assurance of Drugs
On completion of this course students will be able toexplain of the principles of pharmaceutical quality control and quality assurance of pharmaceutical products and how to select the suitable method for analysis of drug substances in different matrices. In addition they will be able to perform validation of an analytical method and to apply the pharmacopeial methods of stability and stability testing of the drugs
B-Clinical pharmacy
1-Physical and inorganic chemistry PC101
On completion of this course students will be able to understand the fundamental inorganic and physical chemistry and their relationships with the life process. They will have the knowledge and skills that enable her/him to know atomic structure, chemical bonding, intermolecular forces, periodic table, chemical reactions, gases, liquids, solids, nuclear chemistry; man and his environment.  
                                    2- Analytical Pharmaceutical chemistry -1 PC205
On completion of this course students will be able to: Understand the basic principles, theoretical aspects and practical skills on gravimetry, titrimetry ( acid-base reactions, precipimetry
                                     3- Analytical Pharmaceutical chemistry -2 PC306
On completetion of course the student will be able to understand the basic principles, theoretical aspects and practical skills in quantitative complexometry and oxidation reduction reactions. Inaddition to understand the simple statistical treatment and pharmaceutical calculations to ensure proper dealing with analytical data
4-.Instrumental Analysis PC407
On completion of this course students will be able tounderstand the basic principles, theoretical aspects and practical skills in instrumental analysis including spectrophotometry, molecular fluorescence spectroscopy, flame spectroscopy, electrochemical analysis (potentiometry, conductimetry, polarography) and chromatography.
       5.Quality Control and Quality Assurance of Drugs PC808
On completion of this course students will be able toexplain of the principles of pharmaceutical quality control and quality assurance of pharmaceutical products and how to select the suitable method for analysis of drug substances in different matrices.
